Gerardo Salazar, DMin

Dr. Gerardo Salazar, Director of Spanish Language Programs, is also a professor,  journalist, communicator, and theologian. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in  Communication and Journalism, a Master of Arts in Theology & Ministry, and a  Doctorate in Ministry with a concentration in Hispanic Ministry from the Oblate School  of Theology in San Antonio, Texas. Before coming to CDU, he served the  Hispanic/Latino community in Houston, Texas, for 10 years in the Archdiocese of  Galveston-Houston and at the University of St. Thomas.

Dr. Salazar founded the Center Semillero, a pioneer effort of the Hispanic Catholics in the U.S.  at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, with two graduate programs offered  completely in Spanish: a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology and Master of Arts in Sacred  Scripture. He has supported various dioceses around the United States in their catechetical and  evangelization efforts, and has served as a consultant on religion and catechets for William H.  Sadlier over the past 8 years.
